Religious Studies

If you are interested in a pursuing a course of education in religious studies, you will be looking at gaining one of three types of degrees:

1. Bachelors
2. Masters
3. PhD

With that in mind, you likely will be surprised with how many schools actually provide courses of studies and degree programs in religious studies.  Some people are surprised to learn that this includes both private as well as public institutions of higher learning. 

When it comes to obtaining a career built upon a degree in religious studies, unless you do in fact obtain a higher degree, your professional path will be somewhat limited.  This is the case unless you are interested in working for a church or entering into the ministry, of course.  However, many people with this type of degree actually are interested in turning around to teach.  In such a situation, an advanced degree is very important.
