Clinical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians

Clinical laboratory technologists and technicians both operate in clinical laboratories examining tissue and cell specimens.  Many have come across having their selves examined by doctors and physicians.  Many have witnessed doctors and nurses extract blood from patients through CBC or injection.  And many patients have been operated surgically, having their tissues checked or perhaps even removed by doctors.  But to come to really think of it, doctors do not perform the basic operations of finding out analysis of a patient’s tissue or cell.  The people assigned for that are what we call as Clinical laboratory professionals.  

We popularly know them as Medical technologists these technologists are clinical laboratory personnel who run many test performances on blood and other fluids that are extracted from the body, including tissues and body cells.  They jot down background finding samples on tissues and cells to trace any forms of bacteria found in the patient’s body.  But these technologists are more than what technicians do.  They perform a quite a heavy output show doctors results of the samples they have performed.  

In addition, medical technologists are also called clinical laboratory scientists because they study the cause and effect of the bacteria, bad microorganisms and parasites that has affected the muscle tissue or body cell of the patient.  They analyze and interpret medical background findings; they are not directly involved with patients, a doctor does the work for them.  Doctors in turn interpret and make patients understand the results of the medical performance which clinical laboratory scientists gave.  

Technicians just do not operate equipments like TV and other electronic gadgets, laboratory technicians on the other hand run less work than the technologists; they ready tissue and cell specimens and sometimes run tests by hand on what has been instructed to them.  A medical laboratory technician lightens up the load of medical technologists by cleaning and organizing laboratory tools and equipment, similar like the medical technologists, they also work in a clinical laboratory and assist in offices where technologists work.  They also perform collection of blood samples, perform laboratory test and perform sample analysis, collect and give the patient’s tissue samples to medical technologists.    

We may sometimes wonder what took so long for the results to get to us.  We sometimes receive them one or two, sometimes three days after the test has been performed.  We must know that these clinical laboratory technologists and technicians are doing their jobs pretty well just to give us the right results of their findings.  The job is pretty much of a load, but they still manage to do their job pretty amazingly.
