Education administrators are part of the educational services industry and form 2.8% of the total workforce employed in educational services. While educational services aim to provide education, educational administrators facilitate the process by providing direction and organizing the day to day management of any institution.

The professional role of an education administrator is to develop academic programs, establish goals and objectives for the institution and teachers, establish policies for the academic year, monitor the progress of the students, evaluate teachers, provide training counseling sessions for teachers or students, prepare and allocate budgets, manage relations with student community, parent body, teachers and other staff employed with the institution.

Industry Outlook:


The management and financial positions in the educational services industry account for 6.4% of the total number of employment in the educational services sector. Though, education administrators currently account for a miniscule 2.8% of the total workforce the numbers will see a rise as projected figures suggest the figures will increase by 15% of the current workforce employed as educational administrators by the year 2014. It is also important to note that a large proportion of the workforce in educational services is above 45 years of age and retirement implies new job opportunities.
