Environment Health Specialist

An environment health specialist is the person that helps to keep our environment safe and health. They are the people that encourage us to use environment friendly products and they are responsible for trying to prevent air and water pollution. One of the important things they have taught us is to recycle instead of waste and this is why in many places you will find large recycling bins for paper, newspaper, bottles and other objects. Their work includes biology, chemistry, agriculture, life science, occupational health, engineering, industrial hygiene and much more.

Environmental health is extremely important and that is why an environmental health specialist will do anything in his or her power to keep all living organisms safe and healthy. But unfortunately they cannot guarantee that everyone will listen to them and take their advice on how to keep our land, waters and air clean. The people that do follow the advice really do make a difference in society, as for those that do not, they should consider it, and after all, it is only done for YOUR safety and the safety of your loved ones.

Environmental health safety includes a few different topics, some of these are:

Certified Hazardous Materials Technicians – this team works with the minor issues, they are the ones who let us know what is happening. They take samples of soil, air or water and take it into the lab to be analyzed.

Industrial Hygienists – these individuals normally work for companies or health care organizations. They analyze the products the company uses and then advise them on what will be best for them to use.

Chemists – these people are the ones who study the chemical makeup of all the different products. They do different projects and try and come up with a new product that will be more environment friendly. There are different kinds of chemists that do different work, some of them are:

Agricultural chemists – analyze products like poisons, feeds and fertilizers.

Toxicologists – do research in order to understand substances and their effects, like how chemicals affect the health of a human being.

Forensic scientists – work in a crime lab, they analyze evidence found at a crime scene and look for clues.  
Clinical chemists – do research and experiments to help health care organizations and doctors find cures for diseases.

The health safety environmental manager is the person that controls everything and makes the important decisions about our environment and the best ways to keep it healthy.
