Teacher Training

As a parent, you know the importance of a good teacher, the one who can provide the highest quality of knowledge and the right guidance to your child.  The “No Child Left Behind” initiative has set higher standards of training, and evaluation.  

As a part of its policies and procedure, learning programs now prepare teachers with the right knowledge, attitude, behaviors and skills so that they can ensure their best performance in the classroom. Teachers in USA have to fulfill specific state learning criterions for getting a license to teach.

Requirement for Teacher Training:

1. A bachelor's degree and a master’s degree within five years 

2. Teachers training which includes knowledge of pedagogical methods through course work and practical field experiences, they must work as student teachers. A state exam is conducted on the subject.

3. Evaluation through standardized state or national level exams, in the subjects they teach and the methods of teaching.  This evaluation would be continued throughout right through their careers.

Enhancing Teacher Learning Programs:

1. The new education policy is stressing in better teaching of science and mathematics.  Special learning initiatives enhance teacher knowledge of these subjects.

2. English is the focus of better learning methods. Teachers are trained to teach the language better to students who may not know the language well.

3. There is a special focus on training teachers to deal with learning disabilities.

State initiatives on Teacher Learning :

1. Summer workshops for K-12 teachers and principles will present the strategies for improving the performance of students. Research material and training plan will help teachers better their methods of imparting education.

2. Internet based eLearning programs will help teachers upgrade their knowledge on some subjects and pedagogy

3. Specially chosen team of teacher training corps will offer technical assistance in schools as required, together with relevant training content at regional workshops. 

These improvements in teacher learning methods will ensure that every child gets the benefit of quality education, as guaranteed by the “No Child Left Behind” amendment.
