Success Tools

As parents, we are keen to see our children do their very best.  The “No Child Left Behind” Act of 2001, raises the bar of education for a better future.  Research and experience has shown that we can empower our children with the tools for success.
As you know, parents are the best and first teachers of their child. They need to stay actively involved in the entire process of learning.

Tools for success that you can gift your child:

1. Help your child read and write English well –

It is proven that those who speak the language well learn better and faster.  You can read to your child, or take him or her to programs that increase the competency in the language.

2. Help your child learn science and mathematics –

The world is getting more technology oriented, it is predicted that the child who does better in mathematics and science will do better in the changing world. There are handbooks available that could help you understand how you can improve these abilities. Please talk to your child’s school or the district administrator.

3. Ensure homework and assignments are complete on time-

Children who do homework fare better. Set aside a regular place and time for homework, and ensure it is completed everyday.

4. Get involved with the school –

You can even become a part of the Parents Teachers Association.

5. Help your child to be responsible –

Helping around the house and the neighborhood gives your child a sense of responsibility.    There are many ways that parents make their child responsible, if you need some suggestions talk to your school counselor.

6. Work with your child for a drug free future –

As a parent, you know that it is important to listen to your child and be involved in his or her life; this will help them remain away from drugs.   Talk to your school counselor to understand more.

Please visit the school district authority for a free booklet that helps you understand the tools for success that empowers your child. The reward is of course a happy child who can reach his or her full potential in the future.
