SAT Registration Details

SAT registration should be ideally done 6 weeks in advance from the date of the test. You can also register directly on the day of the test. However, this is subject to the availability of seats and you will need to inform ETS in advance about the same. SAT is usually scheduled 7 times a year in January, March, May, June, October, November, and December. You can look up the detailed schedules and arrange for your SAT registration accordingly.

There are 2 basic options available for SAT registration. You can either register online or send a copy of registration form by mail. There is one more registration method called standby registration, which can be used if you let pass the normal registration deadline. However, it attracts some extra fees and does not guarantee a seat. Online registration offers several advantages like instant confirmation of registration, immediate selection of test center & date, any time access to the registration details for printing or rectifying the registration details. Checking your SAT score and sending it to desired colleges or universities instantly are among other benefits of online SAT registration. However, there are some exceptions regarding the test center locations and your age when registering online. Mail registration is free from any such conditions, slow processing being its only drawback. Credit cards are accepted for both types of registrations. You can also pay by check or money order for mail registration. You can cancel your SAT registration or postpone it to a future date. However, the registration fees will not be refunded.
