Crime Scene

With all of the technological advances made in regard to criminal investigation, a whole new professional field has developed in recent times:  crime scene investigator.  Indeed, a number of television programs that are popular today have made the crime scene investigator a household profession.

At the present time, there are three different avenues available to a person interested in developing a career in crime scene investigation.  There are short term certification programs, associate degree programs and bachelor degree programs.  Indeed, a growing number of police departments, sheriff department and other law enforcement agencies are requiring their crime scene investigators to have a bachelor degree.

Salaries associated with crime scene investigation positions vary sharply from community to community across the country today.  Generally speaking, law enforcement agencies in more populous communities tend to be paying their crime scene investigatory staff more in the way of salary.

The demand for qualified crime scene investigators is significant at this point in time and is expected to remain strong into the future.
