Health Informatics

A career in health informatics is an occupational choice of fairly recent origin.  Health informatics is defined as:

“Health Informatics is the name given to the application of information technology to healthcare.”

Because of the explosion of IT in the healthcare field over the course of the past ten years, the demand for people who are well qualified in health informatics has risen sharply.  Therefore, a person with the proper training can head into a career that pays well and that offers a person a significant opportunity for advancement.

Generally speaking a person interested in a career in health informatics will obtain at least a bachelors degree.  In addition, some people can also be found obtaining a masters degree when it comes to a profession in health informatics.  There are many different institutions and companies that do employ people with a background and education in health informatics.
