Human Services

A career in human services begins with an appropriate degree.  There are now three major types of educational programs through which a person can obtain a foundational experience for a career in human services.  There are now associates, bachelors and masters degree programs in the human services arena which can prepare a person for a career in the field.

The overall career field of human services is extremely varied.  There are different types of positions available to people in the public and the private sector, including an array of employment options available to people at not for profit agencies and organizations.

The salary ranges in the field of human services is also quite broad.  People accepting entry level positions in the field generally cannot expect particularly high salaries.  There is room for advancement in the field of human services.  And, a person in human services generally garners a great deal of satisfaction from his or her career in the field.
